Cinema iFilm highlights Iranian-Syrian movie ‘The Survivor’.

Cinema iFilm has highlighted Iranian-Syrian movie ‘The Survivor’ (1994).

The 144-minute movie, produced by Manouchehr Mohammadi as well as Manouchehr Asgari-Nasab and written and directed by the late Seifollah Daad, reviews a gloomy story of the occupation of Palestine.

‘The Survivor’ tells the grim story of the occupation of the Palestinian city of Haifa by Zionist forces in 1948 and recounts how a loving grandmother does the unthinkable to save her only surviving grandchild from being raised by a Zionist couple.

The script is based upon ‘Returning to Haifa’, a novel written by the Palestinian author Ghassan Kanafani in 1969. The novel is about Israeli Declaration of Independence and its government in Haifa in 1948.

The movie cast list is comprised of a number of Syrian actors and actresses, including Salma Al-Masri, Alaa El Din Koksh, Ghassan Massoud, Jamal Suleiman, Bassam Kousa, Hani Sadi, and Giana Eid.
