Ashgar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ has made its way to the 2021 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

The list of selected films by the selection committee of the 74th edition of the event was announced today during a press conference.

Farhadi’s flick will vie with 22 other films from around the world in the main competition section.

Mohsen Tanabandeh, Raana Azadivar, Fereshteh Sadr Orafai and Sarina Farhadi star in the film alongside Amir Jadidi.

Although the story for the new movie has been kept under wraps, it has been disclosed to the media that the film will be suspenseful just like Farhadi’s other works such as ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’.

‘A Hero’ marks a return to filmmaking in Iran for the acclaimed director after his project ‘Everybody Knows’ in Spain. It will be shot in the city of Shiraz.

This year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival is slated for July 6-17.
