Italian fest to host Iranian ‘Talker’

Iranian short flick ‘Talker’ has been selected to compete at the 19th edition of the Ischia Film Festival (IFF) in Italy.

Directed by Mehrshad Ranjbar, the 13-minute film tells the story of an old woman who has taken care of her sick husband for many years, but an incident disturbs the order of her life.

The cast list of the short film includes Maryam Nourafkan and Abbas Jalallou.

‘Talker’ has previously won the best film award at the 2020 edition of the Tirana International Film Festival in Albania.

According to the official website of the IFF, “it is a competition open to feature films and documentaries regardless of language: fiction, documentary, animation. The theme of the festival is particularly focused on the location and on the enhancement of the cultural and landscape identity of the territories chosen for the shooting”.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held on June 26–July 3.
