‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ releases trailer

Iranian short documentary ‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ has released a trailer.

Directed by Mahan Khomamipour, the 16-minute flick is a documentary on love and how it makes a man go unaware of whomever that might happen around him. To him all exists is the hope to see the beloved.

The filmmaker takes us to the war-stricken Syria where a man always wears yellow colored garments hoping that his beloved will recognize him among the demolished walls of the city. But, she never shows up and the man must practice his ritual every day.

The director’s statement on ‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ reads, it is “a love story about an old man in yellow who lives alone in war-torn city of Aleppo “why people still living in war-torn city?” that’s question I used to ask myself a lot, before I travel to Syria During my search, I watched so many Videos on net about War in Syria most of them were about the warrior, political side or refugee camp problem I get more and more confused by searching. Because each side only committed the other side for the suffering of the people but none of them really care about people at all although, in those videos, I could watch the people who were still living in the War-torn city. I used to pause the videos and looking at people faces and made my own dreams about their life story, never could understand their purpose of living in War-torn cities and when I couldn’t find out any specific answer for my question I decided to see and to show the part of life in Syria witch media usually doesn’t cover; life of A person who is not in charge of anything at war, a person who doesn’t care about the side of war a person who is not important to anyone; and I met Mr. Yellow in Aleppo.”

The film has been shown at a number of global events, including the Riga International Short filmfest in Latvia, the Euroshorts Young Filmmakers International film festival in Poland, and the ArchFilmLund in Sweden.

Set to compete at the shorTS International Film Festival in Italy, the short doc was nominated for the Best Documentary award at the Sheffield Short Film Festival in the UK.
