Iranian animation ‘Crab’ has made its way to the Anifilm festival in Czech Republic.

The film Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, will vie at the short film competition section of the 2021 edition of the event.

The 11-minute flick, which has been produced by Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, is about a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school. But, the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The film has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

Anifilm’s mission is to present current trends, methods, technologies and animation techniques in its program, the official website of the festival wrote.

It also supports works in progress and brand new animation projects and their authors, producers and distributors.

Film professionals from all over the world can use Anifilm as a platform for positive confrontation and meeting place for forging new contacts.

This year’s edition of the event kicked off on June 22 and will go on until June 27, 2021.
