‘The War Within’ receives nomination at AltFF

Iranian short flick ‘The War Within’ has received a nomination at the summer 2021 edition of the Alternative Film Festival (AltFF) in Canada.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that Javid Farahani, the director and writer of ‘The War Within,’ has been nominated for Best Writer award at the Canadian festival’s Short Category.

According to the report, ‘The War Within’ will compete against five other films from Canada and the US.

‘The War Within’ is about a man with disability who has lost his legs in an accident and is busy in the foreign currency market as a speculator.

He is holding foreign currencies in the hope of selling them at a higher rate to pay the cost of his surgery.

The film is starring Farhad Najafi and Shima Khosheqbal.

The AltFF will announce the winners of its summer edition on June 28.

‘The War Within’ was previously screened at the 74th Salerno International Film Festival in Italy.
