‘A Separation’ among 10 best int’l films ever made

Iranian feature ‘A Separation’ by Asghar Farhadi is named among the 10 best international films ever made.

Iranian feature ‘A Separation’ by Asghar Farhadi has been named among the 10 best international films ever made.

“In the last decade, no other foreign film has hit quite as hard as Farhadi’s ‘A Separation’. It is even more impressive,” Paul Sell said in an article for The Spokesman-Review, a daily based in the US state of Washington, on the best films from around the world.

“Farhadi’s tale of family is both complex and honest in its depiction of life in Iran.”

The 2011 movie is about a married couple who argue over living abroad.

The husband, Nader, wants to stay in Iran and take care of his father who has Alzheimer's disease, while his wife, Simin, is determined to get a divorce and leave the country with their daughter.

‘A Separation' won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012. It also received tens of awards at other international festivals across the world.

The film is starring Leila Hatami and Peyman Maadi.
