Azarbaijan dance is performed in different styles and ways; and have long existed in the life and culture of the Azarbaijan people of Iran.    

This dance is performed in epic or religious aspects in Azarbaijan of Iran, with themes such as struggles and war preparations, pre-hunting ceremonies, agriculture, victory celebrations, and thanksgiving to God or to break spells, etc.

Each dance has its meaning and is performed in a special ceremony. In these dances, movement and skill are compatible, and the movements are varied in form and manner of performance. The movements are performed individually or in groups.

The dancers are divided into numerous and multi groups and wear the special cloths of the regions of Azarbaijan, then each of them performs a special part of their dance with wide chests, a distant look and with pride.  

The musical pace of Azarbaijani dances is 6/8 and 3/4. Movements are sometimes slow, sometimes fast, stepping, with jumps and reach their peak with the rhythm of accelerators. Exercise and agility are essential for the work of dancers.
