Iranian short film ‘Blocked’ has been crowned best at the 2021 South America Awards (SAA) Festival.

Following the honors grabbed by Iranian films at the SAA, Milad Mansouri’s directorial debut succeeded to win two awards for best film and best set design at the 1st edition of the American screening event.

Milad Mansouri’s feature film ‘Kulbarf’ and ‘Smile of the Mask’ short film by Abbas Ghazali were also the Iranian winners of the American festival.

‘Blocked’ is currently competing at the 2021 Ischia Film Festival in Italy which runs through July 3.

Also written by Mansouri, ‘Blocked’ has participated in several international film festivals and has so far received the Asian Golden Eagle Cinematography Award, the special jury prize of the Bulgarian Film Festival and three awards of best film, best directing and best cinematography from the Brazilian International Independent Film Festival.

The South America Awards is the first bimonthly festival in South America, whose intention is to select and award films every two months.

The festival is not exclusive to South American films. Its intention is to promote an exchange between filmmakers and viewers from around the world.
