‘Mask’ to premiere at 2021 Swiss Locarno festival

Iranian short film ‘Mask’ is to have its world premiere at the competition section of the 74th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland.

The film, written and directed by Nava Rezvani, will be the sole representative of Iranian cinema at the 2021 Locarno filmfest, which is due for August 4-14.

‘Mask’ was previously nominated for the Best Short Narrative Film Award at the 39th Fajr Film Festival.

Katayoun Salaki and Houman Mohammad-Hosseini are among the cast list of the film.

The Locarno Film Festival is one of the four most prestigious European film festivals, held annually in the Swiss city of Lucarno since 1946. 

Like most international film events, Locarno last year was forced to move its program online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
