‘Crab’ screened at Fest Anča

Iranian animation ‘Crab’ screened the Fest Anča International Animation Festival in Slovakia.

Iranian animation ‘Crab’ screened the Fest Anča International Animation Festival in Slovakia.

The short films competition section of the 2021 edition of the event hosted the animated piece directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi.

The 11-minute flick, which has been produced by Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, is about a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school. But, the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The film has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

Fest Anča International Animation Festival is unique in being the only Slovak multimedia festival focused on animated film targeted mainly at a mature audience.

The festival aims to raise awareness about animated film as an autonomous art form, and to educate about its multiple types and aspects.

The 14th edition of the event was held on July 1-4, 2021.
