Iran female director to make Iranian-Chinese film

Iranian female director Narges Abyar is set to head to China to make an Iranian-Chinese film.

“I am very happy that I met the famous Iranian director, Narges Abyar. She will go to China to make a joint film about the Silk Road,” Chang Hua, China’s ambassador to Iran, said in a tweet.

Narges Abyar is an Iranian author, film director and screenwriter.

Abyar has penned some 30 books. She has also made several documentaries.

Abyar made her feature directorial debut 'Objects in Mirror' in 2012.

The 50-year-old director received awards at many film festivals in Iran and other countries across the world, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

She has made many notable films, including ‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’.
