Shahram Mokri to judge at Venice filmfest

Iranian filmmaker Shahram Mokri is to judge at the 2021 Venice Film festival.

The director is among the five jury members of the Orizzonti section of the 78th edition of the event.

Mokri’s ‘Fish & Cat’ won the Horizons Award - Special Prize at the 2013 edition of the Italian event.

This year, three men and seven women are to judge at the official competition section.

Founded in 1932, the Venice International Film Festival is the oldest film event in the world and one of the “Big Three” fests alongside the festival of Cannes and the Berlin International Film Festival.

This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for September 1-11.
