Melbourne festival to screen ‘Ballad of a White Cow’

The Melbourne Int’l Film Festival in Australia is to screen Iranian feature ‘Ballad of a White Cow’.

The Melbourne International Film Festival in Australia has been set to screen Iranian feature ‘Ballad of a White Cow’.

Directed by Maryam Moqaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha, the film will take part in the 69th edition of the Aussie festival.

The storyline of the movie reads, “Mina's life is turned upside down when she learns that her husband was innocent of the crime for which he was executed, so she starts a silent battle against a cynical system for her own and her daughter's sake.”

Mina tries to get her life together, take good care of her child and make both ends meet. However, her life gets more sorrowful when she finds out that her husband was innocent.

The cast list of the movie includes Moqaddam, Alireza Sanifar, Farid Qobadi, Lili Farhadpour, and Pouria Rahimi-Sam.

‘Ballad of a White Cow’ was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in the US and stood on the third spot at the Competition Audience Award section of the 71st Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.

The Melbourne International Film Festival is one of the world’s oldest film festivals and the Southern Hemisphere’s largest.

The upcoming edition of the event will take place on August 5-22.
