Iranian ‘Lenz’ awarded at IYAF in UK

Iranian short film ‘Lenz’ is awarded at the Int’l Youth Arts Festival in the UK.

Iranian short film ‘Lenz’ has been awarded at the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF) in the UK.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that ‘Lenz’ won the Best Short Film award at the 13th edition of the IYAF.

Written and directed by Amir-Hossein Tabbat, the film is about a man who intends to commit suicide, but a video camera and photography change his fate.

‘Lenz’ is starring Rahim Shabahang.

The flick grabbed the Best Editing award at the 7th CinéStudent Film Festival in the US.

‘Lenz’ will also participate in the Chuncheon Film Festival, which will open in South Korea next month.

The International Youth Arts Festival is “one of the UK’s biggest multi-arts festival for performers aged under 27, featuring some of the best new work from talented rising stars”, the event’s website reads.

The festival is delivered by Kingston-based charity Creative Youth.

The latest edition of the hybrid festival took place in-person and online on July 2-11, 2021.
