Parviz Rajaee’s short flick, on determinism and free will, took home the best short film award from the London's biggest and broadest film festival which was held online on June 29.

“Some are in stillness to be formed by a hand, and others try to form”, a synopsis for the film reads.

So far, ‘The Hands’ has participated in several film festivals across the globe, including the 4th Sylhet Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 1st Southport Int’l Short Film Festival in the UK, the 2020 Southeast Regional Film Festival in the US, the 2020 South Coast Film Festival of the UK, the 2nd Kalakari Film Festival in India and the 2020 Kosice International Monthly Film Festival of Slovakia.

‘The Hands’ is also the recipient of the best short film award from the World Premiere Film Awards (WPFA) in the US and Certificate of Achievement for Best Iranian Film from the 2nd Eastern Venice Cine Fest in India.

The award for best foreign documentary at the 5th Love International Film Festival (LIFF) in the US and the best short film award from the 2021 Perak Cave Int’l Cine Carnival in Malaysia are other accolades recently bagged by ‘The Hands’.

The Brandenburg Choral Festival is “London's biggest and broadest celebration of all things choral, bringing fantastic choirs into unique central London venues.”
