Bangalore filmfest screening Iranian ‘Haboob’

The 11th Bangalore Int’l Short Film Festival in India is screening Iranian short ‘Haboob’.

The 11th Bangalore International Short Film Festival (BISFF) in India has been screening Iranian short animation ‘Haboob’.

Directed by Mahsa Samani and produced by Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the 9-minute animation tells the story of a man and his daughter, who are accustomed to living in harmony and peace with nature, but some disruptions change their lovely little life.

‘Haboob’ went on screen at some global events, including the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in Germany, the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb in Croatia, and the Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan, where it won the award for best short animation.

It has also received the award for best animation at the International Earth Film Festival in Iran.

The BISFF, which turns 10 this year, is being held for the first time after it was approved as an Academy Awards Short Films Qualifying Festival earlier in 2020.

The 2021 edition of the BISFF has been scheduled for August 13-16.
