Utah Film Market to host ‘Zagzwang’

Iranian short film ‘Zagzwang’ has been selected to compete at the 12th edition of the Utah Film Market in the US.

Directed by Alireza Mohammadi, the short film narrates the story of a couple who are getting divorce.

A synopsis to the short reads “the man has a sinister plan to get rid of his wife’s marriage portion”.

The cast list of the short includes Linda Kiani, Ali Ostadi, Behzad Khalaj and Omid Motamedi.

‘Zagzwang’ has previously participated in the 2021 Top lndie Film Festival and grabbed an award.

Formed in 2010, the annual Utah Film Market screens films from around the world and lets the professionals of the film industry connect.

According to the official website of the event “it aims to show films that portray the human race in a positive light and to applaud original works that redefine media through innovation, creativity and sensitivity that both enlightens and educates audiences from around the world.”

The event will be held on August 25 to 28, 2021.
