'Tattoo' to participate at Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco

The Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco (IFF-San Francisco) in the US is to screen Iranian short film ‘Tattoo’.

The 14th Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco (IFF-San Francisco) in the US is set to screen Iranian short film ‘Tattoo’.

“A young Iranian woman is trying to renew her driver’s license, but when officials notice scars and a tattoo on her wrist they become suspicious,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The 15-minute film

‘Tattoo’ is directed by Farhad Delaram and previously garnered the Crystal Bear at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany. It also won the Best Short Film award at the 17th Tirana International Film Festival in Albania.

The film brought Behdokht Valian the Best Actress Award at the 37th Sulmona International Film Festival (SIFF) in Italy.

The IFF-San Francisco is the first independent Iranian film festival outside of Iran.

This year, the festival will screen 60 films from Iran, and other countries, including the US, the UK, Italy, Canada, Germany, France, China, Bulgaria, and Tunisia.

The 14th annual Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco will take place on September 18-19.
