Iran opens sports-themed carpet exhibition in Tokyo

Iran has opened a sports-themed carpet exhibition in Japan on the sidelines of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The exhibition was opened during a ceremony on Wednesday attended by Iran’ Ambassador to Tokyo Morteza Rahmani-Movahed and Mahmoud Khosravi-Vafa, the head of the national paralympic committee.

The exhibition puts on display pictorial carpets on the 2018 World Cup that took place in Russia, and the 2014 World Cup that took place in Brazil, among others.

During the ceremony, the Paralympics pictorial rug, which was dedicated by the national Paralympic committee to the Iranian embassy in Tokyo, was also unveiled.

The pictorial rug was woven by handicapped people who are supported by the charity of Kahrizak.

Iran’s traditional zourkhaneh sports were also performed at the end of the ceremony.
