In addition to the high-record of performing eye surgery operation, he has hit a high-record in charitable acts.
Interviewing with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Ghaffarzadeh said “I have performed some 40,000 operations. Something happened and I had to have 67 operations in 1 day. We started from 8 am and went on until 12 pm.”
Since the job is not about money for him, he has performed some 3,000 to 4,000 of the surgeries for free, in addition to paying all the expenses for many of his patients.
The ophthalmologist has also given some 10,000 to 20,000 glasses to the patients in need for free.
“We must respect the self-esteem of the patient. Self-esteem is very important. It is our duty about the society,” he added.
Moreover, his wife, Dr. Roya Baqernejad is a cardiologist who has dedicated all of her income to charitable acts.
In addition to performing eye surgeries on people, Dr. Ghaffarzadeh has done some eye surgeries for different animals such as horse, squirrel, and parrot.
