‘Hit the Road’ to hit screen at Zurich filmfest

The Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland is to screen Iran’s ‘Hit the Road’.

The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) in Switzerland has been set to screen Iranian feature ‘Hit the Road’.

Written and directed by Panah Panahi, the movie will go on the Swiss screen during the 17th edition of the event.

‘Hit the Road’ follows a chaotic, tender family that is on a road trip across a rugged landscape and fussing over the sick dog and getting on each others' nerves. Only the mysterious older brother is quiet.

Hassan Majouni, Pantea Panahiha, Rayan Sarlak, and Amin Simiar are on the cast list of the 93-minute movie.

Also set to compete at the Calgary International Film Festival in Canada, ‘Hit the Road’ was a success during Directors' Fortnight at this year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

It has also gone on screen at some global events, including the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic and the New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland.

According to the official website of the ZFF, “The Zurich Film Festival provides a platform for the most promising filmmakers from around the globe. It aims to promote exchange between emerging directors, successful film workers, the film industry and the general public”.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held on September 23-October 3.

This edition of the ZFF will also host Iranian-French feature ‘A Ballad for the White Cow’ and ‘A Hero’ by renowned Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi.
