Valencia Film Festival to screen Iranian ‘Animal’

The 32nd Valencia Int’l Film Festival - Cinema Jove is to screen Iranian short film ‘Animal’.

The 32nd edition of the Valencia International Film Festival - Cinema Jove will screen the Iranian short film ‘Animal’ co-directed by Bahram and Bahman Ark.

To be held in the Spanish city from June 23 to July 1, the Iranian short will compete at the official section of CORTOMETRAJES.

The 15-minute film is about a man who wants to pass the border unlawfully; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.

Ark brothers’ film won the second prize in the Cinéfondation category at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

More than 60 films from all over the world will compete at the CORTOMETRAJES section of the Spanish event which is dedicated to short films.

Directed by Iranian filmmakers Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi, ‘Il Silenzio’ (Silence) will represent France and Italy at this section.

Cinema Jove has been committed to acting as a meeting point for young filmmakers from the four corners of the globe. Every year in June, Valencia becomes this meeting point as the most interesting and creative films are brought out into the limelight.

The films to compete at the event are feature films screened for the first time in Spain and the best, most consolidated shorts on the international scene.

The Valencia event reflects the firm commitment to a cinema of quality for people from all walks of life; Cinema Jove is now among the top most important international film festivals held in Spain.
