France to premiere Iranian film ‘A Ballad for the White Cow’

Iranian film ‘A Ballad for the White Cow’ is to go on screen in more than 100 cinema halls in France.

Iranian film ‘A Ballad for the White Cow’ has been selected to go on screen in more than 100 cinema halls in France.

The film will be screened in France with the name ‘La Pardon’ meaning “forgiving”.

The new name is chosen based on the main theme of the film which is forgiving.

Made by Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moqaddam, the feature narrates the story of a young woman named Mina who lives alone with her deaf child while her husband had been executed for a murder charge a year ago.

Mina tries to get her life together, take good care of her child, and make both ends meet. However, her life gets more sorrowful when she finds out that her husband was innocent.

‘Ballad of a White Cow’ is a coproduction by Qolamreza Mousavi and Etienne de Ricaud.

The cast list of the movie includes Moqaddam, Alireza Sanifar, Farid Qobadi, Lili Farhadpour, and Pouria Rahimi-Sam.

The film has already participated in a number of prestigious film events, including the Berlin International Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Melbourne International Film Festival in Australia.
