Get to know Brick Minaret in Iranian city of Khorramabad

A tourist attraction in Iranian city of Khorramabad is 900-year-old Brick Minaret.

Iran is a country of various attractions and every part of the country has its own specific culture, architecture, and nature to offer.

Iranian city of Khorramabad, located in province of Lorestan, hosts several historical castles, minarets, bridges, and houses.

The 900-year-old Brick Minaret is standing in south of the city. Climbing the 30-meter minaret and standing on top of it, one can observe distant places.

The remaining evidences near the minaret shows that there used to be some other buildings such as caravanserai and mosque around it.

The minaret has 99 internal stairs that lead the visitors to the top. Brick Minaret is registered on Iran’s list of National Monuments.

In the old times, minarets were used to lead travelers to their destinations. Lighting fire on the top of the minarets made them function as a lighthouse.
