The Asian Film Festival Barcelona in Spain is showing Iran’s ‘The Reversed Path’.

The Asian Film Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) in Spain has been showing Iran’s ‘The Reversed Path’.

Directed by Abolfazl Jalili, the 98-minute movie is taking part in the Official Section at the 2021 edition of the Spanish event.

‘The Reversed Path’ is about a teenager who wants to become a filmmaker but faces many obstacles.

“Emkan is a 17-year-old teenager who has not seen his father for many years and his mother works late at night in a factory. He has a small video camera and he decides to make a film to give a twist to his routine life, however, he is not very proficient. He tries his best to achieve his goal…,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The cast list of ‘The Reversed Path’ includes Mahdiyar Asghari, Masoud Naji, and Pouyan Shokri.

The film went on screen at some global events, including the Beijing International Film Festival in China, the Jaipur International Film Festival in India, and the Shanghai International Film Festival in China, where it won the awards for Best Director and Best Actor.

Born in 1957, Jalili is a writer and director. He is considered one of the members of the Iranian new wave, he started making amateur films at the age of 16 and made more than eleven documentaries, three short films and two medium-length films.

The upcoming edition of the AFFBCN includes meetings, conferences and seminars.

The 2021 edition of the Barcelona festival has been slated for October 27-November 7.
