‘Eight O'clock’ in the running at Int’l Film Festival Hanover

Iranian short film ‘Eight O'clock’ has been competing at the 2021 Up and Coming Int'l Film Festival Hanover in Germany.

Iranian short film ‘Eight O'clock’ has been competing at the official selection of the 16th Up and Coming International Film Festival Hanover in Germany.

Directed by young Iranian filmmaker Mostafa Gholami, ‘Eight o'clock’ narrates the love story of a young man named Hamed. His love for Niloufar goes through challenges over time.

“I am not sure why Niloufar is late. She has always been punctual,” reads as a tagline to the short. 

Written by Alireza Taji, the 10-minute flick has also revealed the first official poster concurrent with its international screening at the 2021 German fest.

Rahmatollah Shekarkhandeh, Pouya Safdarpour, Amin Heydari and Diba Fallah make the cast team of the flick. 

Gholami is a popular name in short film arena owing to his globetrotting ‘Return’ which made many appearances worldwide.

Award-winning Iranian short flick ‘The Other’ is also another Iran’s representative at the Up and Coming festival.

The Up and Coming International Film Festival Hanover is “a festival for ambitious filmmakers up to the age of 27 from Germany and all over the world.”

The festival takes place every two years as a discovery festival and a springboard for young talents with no limits to subject or duration of a film.

The festival has been underway since November 22 and will run until November 28, 2021.
