Iranian ‘Good Girl’ shines at Naples Human Rights fest

Iranian short 'Good Girl' wins at the Naples Human Rights Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian short flick 'Good Girl' has shined at the 13th edition of the Naples Human Rights Film Festival (Festival Del Cinema Dei Diritti Umani Di Napoli) in Italy.

Written and directed by Raheleh Karami and produced by Mani Qandi, the short film succeeded to bag the Special Jury Prize at the 2021 edition of the Italian event.

“‘Good Girl’ is not an ordinary short film. It is a short narrative of subdued and unspoken hatreds; silence and breaking from within...,” a synopsis of the film reads.

Behzad Khalaj, Shaqayeq Faryad-Shiran and Mobina Azadi make the main cast team of the short flick.

'Good Girl' has already gone on screen at some global film events, including the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest in Italy, the Earl's Court Film Festival in the UK, and the Linz International Short Film Festival of Austria.

The 14-minute flick is also the recipient of the special award at the 28th Sguardi Altrove International Women's Film Festival in Italy.

Established in 2008, the Naples Human Rights Film Festival aims to provide “a reference point for Human Rights debate in Southern Europe opening up a dialogue among civil societies from the Middle East to North Africa and to Northern Europe and America,” according to the official website of the festival.

The 2021 edition of the event was held online and in-person on November 10-20 in the city of Naples.
