Directed by Hessam Hamidi, a synopsis for the short film reads “Foad is a 12-year-old boy who comes to Tehran to make money and support his mother. He is willing and ready to take on any paying job, but each job brings with it a set of new challenges”.
Written and produced by Hossein Tehrani, the cast list of the film includes Hamid-Reza Karami, Mehran Atashzaee, Rouzbeh Sinaki, and Mehrnoush Salimi.
Currently competing at the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece, ‘Daily Massacre in Tehran’ has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US, the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark, the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa, the Drama International Short Film Festival in Greece, and the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival – Curta Cinema – in Brazil, where it won the best directing award.
