Iran's ‘The Statue’ shines in Earl’s Court festival

Iranian animated short film ‘The Statue’ is named a runner up at the Earl’s Court International Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian animated short film ‘The Statue’ has been named a runner-up at the Earl’s Court International Film Festival in the United Kingdom.

‘The Statue’, directed by Mohsen Salehifard, was named a runner-up at the 8th edition of the festival, along with four films from Australia, Croatia, Switzerland and the UK.

The short is about a sculptor who has difficulty in making his statues.

The Earl’s Court Film Festival (ECFF) “supports filmmakers with grants, location and production office support, as well as accepting short film entries for screening at ECFF in Earl’s Court’s wonderful cinematic venues”, according to an online submission platform.

The festival is “open to short films from all genres. This includes drama, comedy, horror & sci-fi, documentary, experimental, animation, music, viral and low-budget work”.

The eighth edition of the festival took place earlier this month.
