Get to see Birjand’s Akbariyeh Garden and Museum

Among the UNESCO registered sites as world heritage in Iran, the Akbariyeh garden and museum is a must-see destination located in South Khorasan Province.

The grand mansion located in a vast piece of Garden is a two-storey building that was constructed by the end of the Zand dynasty. The whole facility was constructed fully till the end of Qajar dynasty era.

Since then, the mansion saw no further advancements except for some modification done to make it more accommodating; for instance, some bathrooms were added to some bedrooms and it was equipped with running water and electricity.

The garden that is spread over a piece of land with an area of 45 thousand square meters was registered as a national site.

Nowadays, this refreshing summer resort has changed function and it is now a museum open to public to visit.
