Iran’s ‘Social Distancing’ wins award at Haiku Festival

Iranian short film ‘Social Distancing’ garbs an award at the 2nd Haiku Festival in the Netherlands.

Iranian short film ‘Social Distancing’ has succeeded to receive an award at the 2nd edition of Haiku Festival in the Netherlands.

Directed by Kaveh Moeinfar, the 3-minute flick grabbed the Best Short Film Audience Award of the 2021 edition of the event.

“This is a movie about perspective. Every judgment about any subject we have depends on what perspective you choose,” writes the official website of the event describing the movie.

Born on August 8, 1974, Moeinfar directed his first feature in 2017 named ‘Life Without Life’.

The Haiku Festival, which opened with the exhibition of Iranian calligraphy by Mohammad Askari, aims to expand the relationship between poetry and cinema and create new opportunities for a common language between the two.

Presided by Mohammad al-Amin, the Iraqi poet residing in the Netherlands, the closing ceremony of the Haiku Festival was held with the masterful fiddle playing of Iraqi Kurdish artist Mohammad Hussein Kamer.

The latest edition of the festival was held on December 10-11, 2021 in The Hague on the western coast of the Netherlands.
