Get to know Iranian mysterious Haruniyeh Dome in Khorasan

Mysterious Haruniyeh Dome is an old site in Iran's Tus.

Iran, as a country with a long history of amazing architecture and culture, has numerous historical monuments that their real functions are still unknown.

One of the monuments that its function is still a mystery to us is the Haruniyeh Dome located in the city of Tus in northeast of Iran. The monument is one of the oldest sites in the city but its age is not yet estimated.

There are speculations that Haruniyeh Dome might have been built to be a tomb, a school, or a Khanqah.

The monument has a square plan and it is made of brick in Azeri architecture style.

Haruniyeh Dome is close to the tomb of Ferdowsi, the famous Iranian poet, and was registered on Iran’s national heritage list in 1932.
