He is arguably regarded as one of the most significant thinkers and writers over the years in history.

Ibn Sina is particularly noted for his contributions in the fields of philosophy and medicine. Born in 980 near Bukhara, Iran (now in Uzbekistan), Ibn Sina died in 1037 in Iran’s Hamadan Province.

He wrote a philosophical and scientific encyclopedia named Kitab al-shifaʾ (Book of the Cure). His al-Qānūn fī al-Tibb (The Canon of Medicine) can also be named among the most famous books in the history of medicine.

It is said that in the field of medicine, after the Bible, The Canon of Medicine was the most popular book in Europe. Avicenna’s medicine was also taught in Europe for years.
