UNESCO-inscribed Meidan Emam in Iranian city of Isfahan is tourist attraction.

Meidan Emam (or Meidan Naqshe Jahan) in the Iranian city of Isfahan has been one of the marvelous historical attractions of the country.

Meidan Emam is a public square in the center of the city built by the Safavid Shah Abbas I in the early 17th century.

The square is surrounded by two-story arcades and there are four outstanding buildings around it: Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque, pavilion of Ali Qapu, portico of Qeyssariyeh, and Royal Mosque.

According to official website of UNESCO, “It is one of the largest city squares in the world and an outstanding example of Iranian and Islamic architecture.”
