Screenings for Iranian documentary ‘When They Said You Can’t’ on ostrich farming is underway in Iran during the holy month of Ramadan.

Directed by Fatemeh Marzban, the documentary is on screen as one of the films included in the special package of Ammar Film Festival.

The film narrates the story of a man “who used to work in Tehran. Rasoul, who was interested in birds, decides to launch an ostrich farm in his village in [Iran] Golestan Province,” local media quoted the director as saying about the film’s storyline.

She added that Rasoul finds out he is not allowed to do what he plans and nobody helps him.  Rasoul wouldn’t give up until he succeeds, however.

Marzban’s doc strives to showcase the capacities of Golestan Province to the citizens and ask them to use the opportunities presented by the province rather than jumping the fence and abandoning their hometown in the hope of finding Greener Grass.
