Seventh edition of the Islamic Film Market is to be held soon as sidebar event to the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union.
The exact date was not officially announced yet, a local media report said on Sunday, adding, however, that the event occurs in fourth Persian calendar month of Tir (June 22-July 23).
The sixth edition of the Islamic Film Market inaugurated at the 8th General Assembly of the Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU).
According to the previous edition of the event, the Islamic Film Market aims to introduce cinema and television productions of the Islamic countries.
Iranian radio and TV channels and institutes, including Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Farabi Cinema Foundation, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), and the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) are offering their latest productions at the market to help increase the exposure of productions in the international arena.
Among participating TV networks and media institutes in the event include those based in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, Azerbaijan Republic, the UK and India.
The 2017 General Assembly of the Islamic Radio and Television Union will convene in the Iranian holy city of Mashhad.
