Fajr filmfest hosts ‘The Town’

Iranian movie ‘The Town’, starring Saed Soheili is being premiered at the Fajr Film Festival.

Directed by Ali Hazrati, the film will compete for the Crystal Simorgh at the main competition section of the 40th edition of the event.

‘The Town’ narrates the story of Navid, a young man who is interested in acting and is accepted in a big cinematic project.

To join this project and achieve his long-standing wish, he must accept special conditions and psychological exercises of the actors in an isolated town.

The FFF coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the FFF has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.

The opening ceremony of this year’s edition of the festival was held on January 31.
