Fajr contender ‘The Night Guardian’ releases int’l poster

Fajr competitor ‘The Night Guardian’ publishes int'l poster concurrent with screening at the 40th Fajr Film Festival.

‘The Night Guardian’, the participant of the 40th Iran-based Fajr Film Festival (FFF), has released international poster concurrent with screening at this most prestigious film festival.

Directed by much acclaimed Iranian director Reza Mirkarimi, the poster of the film is designed by Sayed Mohammad Beladi based upon the photo taken by Hafez Ahmadi.

The 2022 edition of the festival, which kicked off on February 1 and will run through February 11, is currently playing host to ‘The Night Guardian’, also produced, written and edited by Karimi.

“The old man asked, ‘Why didn’t you marry your cousin? Weren’t you two engaged?

The young man bowed his head in shame and said, ‘Sir, my cousins asked me to sign my patrimony over to them.’

The old man said in surprise, ‘Then, you should have. Didn’t you say there is no water source to the land you inherited from your dad? The young boy raised his head slowly, looked into the old man’s eyes and said, ‘Sir, I went there to tie the knot, not to transact,” this comes as a summery to the film.

Some popular faces who landed role in ‘The Night Guardian’ are Visgka Asayesh, Mohsen Kiai, Kioumars Pourahmad and Laleh Marzban.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival, which also runs in an international version, has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The FFF coincides with the ten-day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) has recently been accredited by the FIAPF, a Belgium-based regulator of international film festivals.

The domestic and international editions of Iran’s Fajr film festival are set to be merged starting from 2023.

The international version of the event will be held later in 2022.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival annually hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the globe.
