‘Killing the Eunuch Khan’ wins grand prize at the US fest

Iranian ‘Killing the Eunuch Khan’ wins at the Slamdance Film Festival in the US.

Iranian movie ‘Killing the Eunuch Khan’ has won the Grand Jury Award at the 28th edition of the Slamdance Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Abed Abest, the movie narrates the life story of a serial killer.

Produced by Shahrzad Seifi, the cast list of the film includes Ebrahim Azizi, Vahid Rad, Misaq Zare, Iman Basim, Sara Mohammadi, and Mahsima Kabari.

The movie has previously participated in a number of international festivals in Estonia and India.

The annual Slamdance Film Festival provides a space for filmmakers, festival programmers and audience members to meet each other and to recognize the next generation of cinema talent.

“The Slamdance Film Festival is a showcase for raw and innovative filmmaking that lives and bleeds by its mantra: By Filmmakers, For Filmmakers,” the official website of the festival states.

The 28th edition of the event was held on January 20-30, 2022.
