A closer look at kids who remain ‘Forever Young’

iFilm English TV has published a review on weekend's movie 'Forever Young'.

Pouran Derakhshandeh is one of the veteran Iranian directors who has made several films at the Iranian cinema industry.

‘Forever Young’ aired on iFilm English TV on Saturday, is one of her outstanding artworks.

Derakhshandeh who always tries to demonstrate social issues, this time has shed light on the challenges of Down syndrome kids.

Written, produced and directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh, the 118-minute movie is about Negar who has a big decision to make.

She loves Iman and wants to marry him, but he has an obligation to a family member that will affect their lives significantly.

His brother suffers from Down syndrome and Iman has to take care of him.

Negar’s family says she shouldn't marry him, but her heart sings another song.

Cast list of ‘Forever Young’ includes Shahab Hosseini, Elham Hamidi, Felor Nazari, Pantea Bahram, Hadi Marzban, Ahou Kheradmand, Farzaneh Kaboli, and Mehdi Miami.

In this movie Derakhshandeh has chosen to have a real Down syndrome kid before the camera instead of using a professional actor.

‘Forever Young’ has been able to familiarize its audience with Down syndrome and show everyone that people with Down syndrome can live like ordinary people and learn if educated.

Most of the film's lessons are from Negar, who tries to introduce her family to Down syndrome and learn how to treat Ali by spending time with him.

Pantea Bahram won the Crystal Simorgh for best actress in a supporting role of the film at the 25th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.

Kambiz Roshan-Ravan also grabbed the honorary diploma of the best score music at the same event.

‘Forever Young’ has owned awards at other international festivals as well.
