‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ to participate in Int’l Film & Entertainment fest

Iranian short flick ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ has been shortlisted in the main competition section of the 2022 International Film & Entertainment Festival of Australia (IFEFA).

Co-directed by Mostafa Rostampour and Atefeh Rezaiyan, ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ is about a woman named Tahereh, who is a victim of very young age marriage.

She, who has suffered the aftermath of such a tradition, is trying hard to avoid such a destiny for her younger sister.

The short film has been screened at a number of global events, including the Heritage film festival in the US, the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain, the 2nd Muestra Itinerante De Cine Mx (MICMX) in Mexico, the 1st Minute Shorts competitions in the UK, the 3rd Meihodo Int’l Youth Visual Media Festival in Japan, the 17th Film Festival and Human Rights of Barcelona (FCDHBCN) in Spain, and the Eastern Europe Int’l Movie Awards in Turkey.

The list goes on with the 2021 Queen Palm Int’l Film Festival (QPIFF) in the US, the 2021 Itinerant Film Exhibition MX (MICMX) in Mexico, the 8th Fine Arts Film Festival in the US and the 5th Ramsgate Int’l Film & TV Festival in the UK.

‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ is also the recipient of the Women’s Voices Award at the 8th Fine Arts Film Festival (FAFF) in the US.  

The monthly award for the Best Sound Design and the Best Foreign Short Film of the December 2020 Screen Power Film Festival in the UK is another accolade bagged by the film.  

The International Film & Entertainment Festival provides an opportunity to showcase movies from around the world that “are high on art and content and may or may not be shown in cinemas.”

IFEFA also “attempts to celebrate the cinematic art and awards the most original and creative films and artists in the entertainment industry,” writes the official website of the event.

The upcoming edition of the festival is to be held on February 16, 2022.
