The 40th edition of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) has announced the winners of Crystal Simorgh awards in different categories.

Best Directing:

Reza Mirkarimi for ‘The Night Guardian’

Special Directing Award: Amir-Hossein Asgari for ‘The Last Snow’

 

Best Script:

Kazem Daneshi for ‘Grassland’

 

Best Actress in a Leading Role:

Tannaz Tabatabaee for ‘Dreamless’ (Without Her)

 

Best Actor in a Leading Role:

Amin Hayaee for ‘The Last Snow’

 

Best Actress in a Supporting Role:

Sadaf Espahbodi for ‘Grassland’

 

Best Actor in a Supporting Role:

Nader Soleymani for ‘Against’ (Zed)

Best Documentary:

‘Dying’ (Lamentation) by Hojjat Taheri and and Abdolkhaleq Taheri

 

Best Short Film:

‘Bonus’ directed by Reza Nejati

 

A lineup of 22 films, most made by the new generation of Iranian filmmakers, competed at the main competition section of the FFF.

Presided over by Masoud Naqqashzadeh, the 40th FFF is took place in Tehran on February 1-11, 2022 in two cultural and competitive sections.

The FFF coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the FFF has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
