ICFF foreign guests condemn terrorist attacks in Tehran

A number of foreign guests and participants of the 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) have condemned recent terrorist attacks in Tehran.

European, Asian and American artists, filmmakers and participants of the 30th ICFF, denouncing the terrorist attacks, recently expressed their condolences to the Iranian nation through separate messages.

The secretariat of the event said representatives of Germany, the US, China, France, Norway and the Netherlands sent separate messages to condemn the attacks and sympathized with Iranians.

Kevin Erickson director of ‘The Next Step’ from the US wrote “Tehran's news made me sad and I hope that never hearing the news like these.”

“What's going on in Tehran? It is very uncomfortable for me. I hope you stay safe,” Loic Bruyere director of ‘In a cage’ from France said.

Nicole van Kilsdonc director of ‘The Day My Father Became a Bush’ from the Netherlands wrote “There is no glory in terrorism. I’m sorry for these terrible attacks.”

Peder Hamdahl director of ‘Little Grey Fergie’ from Norway stated “Tehran attacks are heartbreaking. I’m so sorry about victims.”

Suntour Jual producer of ‘The River’ from China wrote “I heard a bad news. Terror again... I take sympathy with you and your people.”

Ramona Sehr, festival and sales coordinator of ‘Miracle of Mountain’ from Germany said “It’s terrible what we’re hearing in the news about what’s going in Tehran at the moment. I hope you and your family and friends and people are safe.”

Two coordinated terrorist attacks were carried out by Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in the Iranian capital, two weeks ago on June 7.

The attacks on Majlis (the Iranian parliament) building and the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran left 17 civilians killed and more than 50 others injured.

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

It is an event that celebrates films made for children and youth. The festival supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas. It is also an event that serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY is slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
