The famous Iranian filmmaker, Narges Abyar, was presented with director achievement award at the 5th edition of the Turkish film event during a ceremony held at Adnan Saygun Art Center on February 27.
Some of the works made by this Iranian director will also be screened at the festival that is set to run till March 8, which is the international women’s day.
Born in Tehran, Narges Abyar studied Persian Literature and received her B.A. in this field.
Abyar has won awards from many national and international film festivals, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
She has penned some 30 books for children, young adults and adults. She has also made several short and feature-length documentaries.
‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’ are among the female actor’s notable films with the former winning numerous awards in major film events and the latter selected as Iran 2018 Oscar entry.
