‘Emergency’ taking part in IWFFT

Iranian short ‘Emergency’ is vying at the International Women Filmmakers Festival Turkey (IWFFT).

Iranian short film ‘Emergency’ has made its way to the International Women Filmmakers Festival Turkey (IWFFT).

According to the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Emergency’, directed by Maryam Esmikhani, is competing at the fifth edition of the IWFFT.

“Nazanin is a 6-year-old girl who asks the emergency medical technician who came to their home to treat her sick mother to marry her mom,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Earlier reports said Iranian short films ‘Pass’ by Elika Abdollahi and ‘For What Sin’ by Maryam Ebrahimvand is also taking part in the IWFFT.

The IWFFT aims to “make woman film directors and their movies recognizable by bringing woman filmmakers and other female cinema industry workers together”, and to “support and encourage creative women by creating new networks & perspectives, finding possible funds, and making space for the new coming filmmakers’ generation”, the website of the event reads.

The 5th edition of the IWFFT kicked off on February 27 and will run until March 8.
