The 82nd International Photographic Salon in Japan has honored four Iranian photographers.

Iranian young photographer Ahmad Khatiri has succeeded to bring home the plate of honor and gold medal of the event for his work ‘Alone’ which depicts a boy clad in a military uniform among a number of Iranian servicemen.

‘Alone’ is the winner of the GPU White Ribbon J1 - FIAP blue ribbon J3 at the Vernon-Normandy Photograph Exhibition in France.

“During the previous years, we have seen the powerful presence of Iranian artists including Iranian photographers in reputable and major world festivals, which shows Iranians have remarkable talents that are recognized at international scenes,” said Khatiri in his interview with IRNA.

Khatiri, who is also a member of the International Photography Federation FEIAP, was placed 1st in overall ranking among 106 photographers worldwide.

Ali Kianjam is another Iranian winner of the contest, who was honored for his photo ‘Circle of Life’ showing some farmers who are chasing birds away from their field.

‘Harmony in Mourning’ by Davoud Izadpanah also won an award. His photo depicts a large group of Iranian Shia Muslims engaged in the Muharram mourning rituals.

‘Colored’ by Omidreza Pournabi was also among the winners. The photo shows an Iranian artisan working in his workshop.

Winners were chosen by a jury of eight photographers and experts headed by Takeyoshi Tanuma.
