The Swedish festival will screen ‘Wolf Cubs of Apple Valley’ by Fereydoun Najafi later this month.
“A shot rings out in the valley, and Asho’s friend drops to the ground. The rifle bullet was meant for Asho; his father is wanted for murder and he is being hunted as well. To evade those who are looking for him, Asho is forced to dress up as a girl and hide at his aunt’s house,” a synopsis for the film reads.
“In his hunt for answers, he heads out to Apple valley with his cousin, Pari, to look for his mother, whom he has always believed to be dead,” it adds.
BUFF has been "the most important screening venue for films for children and young people in the Nordic countries" since 1984, the event’s website writes.
The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on March 19-25.
