Iran’s ‘Red Fire’ to vie at Athens ANIMFEST

Iran’s ‘Red Fire’ is to vie at the Athens ANIMFEST in Greece.

Iranian short animation ‘Red Fire’ has been selected to take part in the 2022 edition of the Athens ANIMFEST in Greece.

Directed by Mona Shahi, the 11-minute animation will be among the competition titles at the 17th edition of the Greek event.

A brief synopsis for ‘Red Fire’ reads, “The Darkness Demon has swept over the world, trying to set the ending of Light unlike the earlier promises and prophecies. It is in such an era that a flock of Red birds travel in search of the Red Fire; a Fire that according to the prophecies, wipes out the blackness and puts an end to the constant eclipse and absence of the Sun. But where are they going to find the Red Fire?”

The short film has already participated in a number of global events, including the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan, the Spark Animation festival in Canada, and the Tehran International Animation Festival in Iran.

The Athens ANIMFEST is an annual international animation film festival in Greece. The event aims to give chance to Greek and foreign artists to show their talent and restless spirit.

This year’s edition of the fest, also set to host Iran’s ‘The Fourth Wall’ directed by Maedeh Kalaee and ‘Eat, Ate…’ by Shidokht Dezham Shahabi, is slated for March 17-20.
