‘Haboob’ to vie at Fribourg filmfest

Iranian short animation ‘Haboob’ has made its way to the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) in Switzerland.

Directed by Mahsa Samani and produced by Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center the animated piece will vie at the 13th edition of the event.

The 9-minute flick tells the story of a man and his daughter, who are accustomed to living in harmony and peace with nature, but some disruptions change their lovely little life.

The animation has previously participated in several international film festivals, including the 11th Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan and the 28th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in Germany.

The FIFF aims to use films as a medium for enhancing the inter-cultures’ understanding. The event picks films that promote reflection and discussion.

This year’s edition of the fest is set to be held on March 18-27.
